Monday Musings-3/Aug | Build the Project. Build the Organization
I came across the inspiring story of Skyroot Aerospace.
📩 In 2018, founders Pawan Kumar Chandana and Naga Bharath Daka, then ISRO engineers, reached out to entrepreneur Mukesh Bansal through a cold LinkedIn message with an ambitious dream — to build rockets privately in India.
Bansal responded, met them that weekend, and eventually became their first investor with ₹10 crore.
At that point, there was no rocket, no established private space ecosystem in India, and certainly no guarantee of success.
What existed was a bold vision and the conviction to pursue it.
🚀 Years later, Skyroot would go on to make history with India's first privately developed rocket launch.
But what stayed with me was the advice Bansal gave the founders:
💬 “Always do the right thing. This journey will be much longer and much harder than you imagine. Build two things with equal importance — the product and the organization.”
💡 A great reminder for all of us.
Whatever we are building — a product, program, interfaces, capability or transformation — what we deliver matters, but so does the team and organization we build along the way.
🚀 Build the outcome. Build the organization. And always do the right thing.
Have a wonderful week ahead! ✨
