Football Coaching Camp

It was very pleasant and nice to see the pachiappas harrington football academy's summer coaching camp. Every year this camp happens in the pachiappas college. This team is one of the best teams in the chennai football circuit. This coaching camp is for one month ( i guess) they dont charge a big money for it. It starts from small kids.
One best thing i like is the complete set of Kit bag that they provide with jersey, socks, shorts etc.

The organize it very well and every day it starts @ 6.00 Am. Kudos to the kids and parents who are showing interest in the football.
If you are looking for more detail leave a comment to answer the same.

Running 2013 - A wind up

I started this  year 2013 with so much planning in terms of running. All went well as plan, till the Mid January before i twisted my left leg by landing in a small pit.It pushed all my plans for 6 months. I missed almost all my booked events starting from the Auroville marathon, cool runners marathon, and few other runs. I consulted 5 different ortho and got cured from the final one.
I took part in the TCS10K in end may. felt happy to complete my 10K but ran the whole course so much conscious to avoid any more injury to land on my same leg.

When i again started my running routine, i faced some other challenges as i was knocked of viral fever twice and a surgery to remove the renal stones.
This killed my schedules planned for the KTM2013 mysore, Airetl Hyderabad and few other local runs.It almost took next 3 months when i again planned to start my running on september i had only 2 runs left on the calendar CTC 2013 and the TWCM2013. I registered for both the event and especially the TWCM2013 for my FM.
I was able to complete the CTC2013 and also did my first full marathon in chennai on dec 1 2013.I enjoyed every bit of my run in this course. Post this i did my first triathlon with the chennai trekking club in the olympic category. I could not finish my swimming but did well on my cycling and the running. One another experience that i cherished with the pain.

As the year folds for 2013 i feel like my running journey is starting from tomorrow as 2014 starts with new goals and destinations.

The Man who swam the Amazon -Martin Strel

One of the nicest book i have ever read. The man who swam the Amazon.. i took this book from the Connemara library, chennai and extended twice before i started reading this book..

This book is a Journal on Day to day activity of Martin Strel about 66 day swimming on the amazon river covering 5200 + Kms.

It is very hard to imagine swimming 10 hours daily , in the midst of thick jungle , even for any emergency they dont have any access to any near by towns, hospitals.

Along this journey we will be able know abou the amazon forest, wild creatures, dangerous water creatures, Pirates, Natural disasters.

This 52 year old man did this for the cause of clean water.

His determination in completing in midst of so many constraints and challenges is well described..and the author literally takes you along the time line.

Nice one to read !!

Second attempt of 10 x10

Last year i did a 10 X 10 and. because of my frequent personal travel i did this in 3 different places.. This year also again i started this 3 week before and did the same for 3 days and have to discontinue because of the pain in the ankle, running in odd hours and poor planning. So planned to do it again and started today was able do complete 1st day of  the same. Again the first 5 kms went ease..and then later started to have little pain in the left ankle..but was not hurting so badly. Have to plan well for tomorrow.

Pachaiappas Harrington Football Academy - Summer Camp 2013

As i completed my jog in the Pachiappas ground i heard about the opening ceremony of the Pachaiappas Harrington Football Academy - Summer Camp 2013.

Actor Arya Distributing the Kit

It was very interesting to know that this is the 11th year that this camp is being organized. some of the points that i heard and noted are below.

Most of the coaches have played for different leading clubs and it is their own intrest and passion for the game ,is driving them towards this coaching sessions.

It was a great news that the 5 players from this college/club are playing the universities. I have many times witnessed the tremendous workouts that they do during their practice sessions.

They charge around 400Rs/Person for this camp, which is almost covered for all the basic expenses that is required for one full set.

It was nice to see Arya (Actor) who is regular visitor to this ground for football, was also present in the small function to encourage the sports and the kids.

One common thing most of them insisted was about the discipline towards the sports and the passion that they still hold after so much years.

I have seen the kids/ youngsters in the camp with the full gear. as everyone has a Kit bag,Stockings,Jersey and Ball.( Photo to be published next)

The used balls are being given as a free of cost for other suburban clubs , in the interest to promote the sports.

Felt , when such dedicated, passionate people are around this game will be flourishing.

Till may 15 if you want to witness this you can drop in at the Pachiappas ground,Chetpet. To see the kids getting ready on their sports journey!!!!
